Abstract
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. For example, the present disclosure provides a method and a device for re-installing a profile when changing an eUICC terminal.

A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- identifying information requesting transfer of a profile to another terminal;
- transmitting, to a profile server, a device change request message regarding the profile;
- in case that processing of a device change request regarding the profile is delayed, receiving, from the profile server, a device change request response message comprising information on a subscription mediation server capable of confirming a device change processing result regarding the profile;
- receiving, from the subscription mediation server, a message comprising information associated with completion of the processing of the device change request regarding the profile;
- and
- resuming a device change processing process regarding the profile with the profile server.

A method performed by a profile server in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a terminal, a device change request message regarding a profile;
- in case that processing of a device change request regarding the profile is delayed, transmitting, to the terminal, a device change request response message comprising information on a subscription mediation server capable of confirming a device change processing result regarding the profile;
- transmitting, to the subscription mediation server, an event registration request message requesting event registration regarding the device change request processing result of the terminal;

A profile server in a wireless communication system, the profile server comprising:
- a transceiver;

- a controller configured to receive, from a terminal through the transceiver, a device change request message regarding a profile, in case that processing of a device change request regarding the profile is delayed, transmit, to the terminal through the transceiver, a device change request response message comprising information regarding a subscription mediation server capable of confirming a device change processing result regarding the profile, transmit, to the subscription mediation server through the transceiver, an event registration request message requesting event registration regarding the device change request processing result of the terminal, and resume a device change processing process regarding the profile with the terminal based on a transmission of information associated with completion of the processing of the device change request regarding the profile from the subscription mediation server to the terminal.
