A portable electronic device comprising: an enclosure having an enclosure wall that forms an interior chamber surrounding a transducer and an opening from the interior chamber; and an electro-magnetic valve coupled to the opening and comprising a stationary portion that is energized upon application of a voltage to drive a movement of a movable portion between a first state and a second state operable to close or open the opening.

A portable electronic device comprising:
- an enclosure having an enclosure wall that forms an interior chamber surrounding a transducer and an opening from the interior chamber;
- and
- an electro-magnetic valve coupled to the opening and comprising a stationary portion that is energized upon application of a voltage to drive a movement of a movable portion between a first state and a second state operable to close or open the opening.
A valve assembly for a portable electronic device comprising:
- an electro-magnetic valve coupled to an opening defined by an enclosure wall that forms an interior chamber surrounding a transducer and the electro-magnetic valve comprising a stationary portion that is energized upon application of a voltage to drive a movement of a movable portion between a first state and a second state operable to close or open the opening.
