Projection display method and projection display device

A projection display device, comprising an optical engine, a memory, and a processor, wherein the memory is configured to store a computer program, the processor is configured to execute the computer program to implement a projection display method, and the method comprises:

• obtaining point cloud data along a projection direction of the projection display device, wherein the point cloud data characterizes three-dimensional spatial positions of a plurality of detection points along the projection direction;
• identifying a target projection plane based on the point cloud data;
• identifying an obstacle point not located on the target projection plane from the plurality of detection points based on the target projection plane and the point cloud data;
• controlling, in response to determining that the obstacle point is within a current projection range, the projection display device to project an image that avoids the obstacle point.
