Protected display of shared visual data associated with an audiovisual conference session

An apparatus for protected display of a shared visual data object associated with an audiovisual conference session, the apparatus comprising:

• communications hardware configured to:
• receive, from a server device, the shared visual data object from a client sharing device;
• user interface generation circuitry configured to:
• determine a data protection template associated with the shared visual data object, wherein the data protection template is associated with a plurality of protected data values within the shared visual data object, and
• generate, using the shared visual data object and the data protection template, a masked shared visual data object, wherein the plurality of protected data values within the shared visual data object are masked by one of (a) visually obscuring a protected data value of the plurality of protected data values or (b) replacing the protected data value with a randomly-generated value;
• and
• the communications hardware further configured to:
• display the masked shared visual data object.

A computer program product for protected display of a shared visual data object associated with an audiovisual conference session, the computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing software instructions that, when executed, cause an apparatus to:

• receive, from a server device, the shared visual data object from a client sharing device;
• determine a data protection template associated with the shared visual data object, wherein the data protection template is associated with a plurality of protected data values within the shared visual data object;
• generate, using the shared visual data object and the data protection template, a masked shared visual data object, wherein the plurality of protected data values within the shared visual data object are masked by one of (a) visually obscuring a protected data value of the plurality of protected data values or (b) replacing the protected data value with a randomly-generated data value;
• and
• display the masked shared visual data object.
