Abstract
A computer-implemented technique for controlling network congestion includes determining a first slope that relates (i) reception durations over which packets are received by a client device and (ii) send durations over which packets are transmitted to the client device; interpolating a first send duration over which packets are transmitted to the client device and a first reception duration over which packets are received by the client device based on the first slope to determine a second send duration; and causing one or more first packets to be transmitted over a network based on the second send duration.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method for controlling network congestion, the method comprising:
- determining a first slope that relates (i) reception durations over which packets are received by a client device and (ii) send durations over which packets are transmitted to the client device;
- interpolating a first send duration over which packets are transmitted to the client device and a first reception duration over which packets are received by the client device based on the first slope to determine a second send duration;
- and
- causing one or more first packets to be transmitted over a network based on the second send duration.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform steps for controlling network congestion, the steps comprising:
- determining a first slope that relates (i) reception durations over which packets are received by a client device and (ii) send durations over which packets are transmitted to the client device;
- interpolating a first send duration over which packets are transmitted to the client device and a first reception duration over which packets are received by the client device based on the first slope to determine a second send duration;
- and
- causing one or more packets to be transmitted over a network based on the second send duration.
A system, comprising:
- a memory storing instructions;
- and
- one or more processors that are coupled to the memory and, when executing the instructions, are configured to perform the steps of:
- determining a first slope that relates (i) reception durations over which packets are received by a client device and (ii) send durations over which packets are transmitted to the client device,
- interpolating a first send duration over which packets are transmitted to the client device and a first reception duration over which packets are received by the client device based on the first slope to determine a second send duration, and
- causing one or more packets to be transmitted over a network based on the second send duration.
