Abstract
Techniques for modifying a data transmission overlay network are disclosed. Specifically, systems and methods for modifying the data transmission overlay network over a physical communications network are disclosed. The overlay network comprises multiple forwarding nodes configured to transmit data between a source and a destination. The method includes identifying a forwarding node within a predetermined attribute range of the source based on the source's geolocation and associated access policies. If no existing forwarding node meets the specified attribute range in the source's geolocation, a new forwarding node is provisioned to the overlay network within the predetermined attribute range.
Claims20
A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions which, when executed by one or more hardware processors, cause performance of operations comprising:
- implementing a data transmission overlay network overlaid over a physical communications network,
- wherein the data transmission overlay network comprises a plurality of forwarding nodes that are configured to forward data between a source and a destination;
- identifying a forwarding node within a predetermined attribute range of the source based on a geolocation of the source and access policies associated with the source;
- and
- in response to identifying that no existing forwarding node matches the attribute range, provisioning a new forwarding node to the data transmission overlay network within the predetermined attribute range.
A method comprising:
- implementing a data transmission overlay network overlaid over a physical communications network,
- wherein the data transmission overlay network comprises a plurality of forwarding nodes that are configured to forward data between a source and a destination;
- identifying a forwarding node within a predetermined attribute range of the source based on a geolocation of the source and access policies associated with the source;
- and
- in response to identifying that no existing forwarding node matches the attribute range, provisioning a new forwarding node to the data transmission overlay network within the predetermined attribute range.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform:
- implementing a data transmission overlay network overlaid over a physical communications network,
- wherein the data transmission overlay network comprises a plurality of forwarding nodes that are configured to forward data between a source and a destination;
- identifying a forwarding node within a predetermined attribute range of the source based on a geolocation of the source and access policies associated with the source;
- and
- in response to identifying that no existing forwarding node matches the attribute range, provisioning a new forwarding node to the data transmission overlay network within the predetermined attribute range.
