Interfaces for aircraft servers

An apparatus, comprising:

• a controller coupled with a memory device, wherein the controller is configured to cause the apparatus to:
• provide an interface that enables distribution of content to respective servers on a plurality of mobile platforms, the content comprising entertainment content or information content to provide to devices within the plurality of mobile platforms, wherein the respective servers are coupled with a communication network via respective communication links established with the plurality of mobile platforms, wherein the respective communication links use a shared resource pool;
• receive, via the interface a distribution request message for first content for distribution to at least a subset of the plurality of mobile platforms, the distribution request message comprising a plurality of distribution parameters, the plurality of distribution parameters comprising an indication of the at least the subset of the plurality of mobile platforms, a time at which the first content is scheduled to be available on the at least the subset of the plurality of mobile platforms, or both, wherein the at least the subset comprises two or more mobile platforms of the plurality of mobile platforms;
• and
• distribute the first content to the at least the subset of the plurality of mobile platforms, wherein the distributing comprises determining resources of the respective communication links for distribution of the first content based at least in part on the plurality of distribution parameters and utilization of the shared resource pool.
