Abstract
In one aspect, the present disclosure provides an acoustic device configured to be used with an energy device. The acoustic device may comprise a transducer configured to generate and transmit acoustic waves into the energy device. The transducer may be based on one or more physical or geometric design parameters that are configured to (1) optimize mass transportation within the energy device, and (2) match or accommodate one or more size or form factor constraints associated with the energy device.

A system, comprising:
- an energy device, comprising an electrochemical cell having a cell surface;
- and
- an acoustic device operably coupled to the energy device, wherein:
- the acoustic device has a size that is substantially same or smaller than a size of a cell of the energy device,
- the acoustic device comprises a substrate and one or more transducers patterned onto the substrate, and
- the one or more transducers comprise at least one of:
- (a) an FIDT-W comprising a plurality of fingers in a shape of a slowness curve of the substrate,
- (b) a thickness mode transducer (TMT) comprising a top electrode and a bottom electrode deposited onto a top surface and a bottom surface of the substrate, respectively, or
- (c) a lamb wave transducer (LWT) comprising a combined IDT and bottom electrode, the combined IDT comprising a plurality of fingers and a plurality of reflectors deposited on the top surface of the substrate, and the bottom electrode deposited on the bottom surface of the substrate.
