Power tool with compact motor assembly

A power tool comprising:

• a tool housing;
• a support plate provided within the tool housing;
• and
• a brushless direct-current (BLDC) motor received within the housing, comprising:
• a stator assembly including a stator core, a plurality of stator teeth radially extending from the stator core and defining a plurality of slots therebetween, and a plurality of stator windings wound around the plurality of stator teeth;
• a rotor shaft extending along a longitudinal axis;
• a rotor comprising a rotor core mounted on the rotor shaft within the stator assembly and a magnet mounted on an outer surface of the rotor core;
• a front motor bearing mounted on the rotor shaft and supported by the support plate;
• a rear motor bearing mounted on the rotor shaft;
• a transmission received in the housing and including an input member configured to be rotatably driven by rotation of the rotor shaft and an output member configured to be driven by rotation of the input member;
• an output spindle;
• and
• a rotational impact mechanism coupled to the output member of the transmission and to the output spindle,
• wherein the power tool has a maximum torque that is in the range of approximately 1825 inch-lbs to 2008 inch-lbs, and a length of the power tool including the BLDC motor, the transmission, the rotational impact mechanism, and the output spindle is in the range of approximately 96 mm to 110 mm.
