Abstract
Various designs of a system for charging a hand-held, hair cutting device are shown. The system includes a hair cutting device and a charging station. The hair cutting device and charging station each include an inductive charging coil. At least one of the hair cutting device and charging station include a magnet to pull or bias the hair cutting device such that the respective inductive charging coils are brought into alignment, allowing for charging of the hair cutting device.

A system for a hair cutting device comprising:
- a hair cutting device comprising:
- a housing comprising:
- a longitudinal axis;
- a charging interface surface extending along the longitudinal axis of the housing;
- a battery positioned within the housing;
- a first inductive charging coil, the first inductive charging coil coupled to the battery and positioned proximate to the charging interface surface;
- a first blade;
- a second blade, the first blade and the second blade supported by the housing;
- and
- an electrically powered drive positioned within the housing and coupled to the battery;
- a charging stand comprising:
- a support surface configured to support the hair cutting device;
- a power supply;
- and
- a second inductive charging coil coupled to the power supply, the second inductive charging coil positioned proximate to the support surface;
- wherein a permanent magnet is fixed within one of the hair cutting device and the charging stand and a field device is positioned within the other of the hair cutting device and the charging stand;
- and
- wherein one of the permanent magnet and the field device is positioned between the electrically powered drive and the charging interface surface.
A system for charging a device comprising:
- a device comprising:
- a housing comprising:
- a charging interface surface extending along a longitudinal axis of the housing;
- a battery;
- a motor coupled to the battery;
- a first inductive charging coil coupled to the battery, the first inductive charging coil positioned between the battery and the charging interface surface;
- a charging stand comprising:
- a support surface;
- a second inductive charging coil coupled to a power supply, the second inductive charging coil positioned proximate to the support surface;
- and
- a permanent magnet fixed within one of the device and the charging stand and a field device positioned within the other of the device and the charging stand.
A system for charging a hair cutting device comprising:
- a hair cutting device comprising:
- a housing comprising:
- a longitudinal axis;
- a charging interface surface extending along the longitudinal axis of the housing;
- a battery positioned within the housing;
- a first inductive charging coil coupled to the battery, the first inductive charging coil positioned between the battery and the charging interface surface;
- a pair of blades supported by the housing;
- and
- an electrically powered drive positioned in the housing and coupled to the battery;
- a charging stand comprising:
- a support surface;
- a power supply;
- a second inductive charging coil coupled to the power supply;
- a permanent magnet fixed within one of the hair cutting device and the charging stand and a field device positioned within the other of the hair cutting device and the charging stand.
