Abstract
A battery system includes an external output circuit, a main relay, a pre-charge circuit, a plurality of battery module units, and a controller. Each of the plurality of battery module units includes a plurality of battery cells and a unit relay. The controller turns OFF the main relay while keeping the unit relays of the plurality of battery module units ON. The controller turns OFF the unit relays based on at least one of the following conditions: a time during which the unit relays are kept ON has exceeded a predetermined time; and a current value difference between the plurality of battery module units is less than or equal to a predetermined specified value after turning ON the unit relays.
Claims7
A battery system comprising:
- an external output circuit including a positive electrode terminal and a negative electrode terminal, each connected to an external load;
- a main relay provided in the external output circuit;
- a pre-charge circuit connected in parallel to the main relay;
- a plurality of battery module units provided so as to be connected to the external load through the main relay;
- and
- a controller, wherein:
- each of the plurality of battery module units includes:
- a plurality of battery cells connected in series;
- and
- a unit relay connected in series to the plurality of battery cells;
- and
- the controller turns OFF the main relay while keeping the unit relays of the plurality of battery module units ON;
- and
- the controller turns OFF the unit relays based on at least one of the following conditions:
- a time during which the unit relays are kept ON has exceeded a predetermined time;
- and a current value difference between the plurality of battery module units is less than or equal to a predetermined specified value after turning ON the unit relays.
