According to one embodiment, a light-emitting device includes a first conductive member including an opening, a second conductive member, a semiconductor laser element, and a fixing member. The semiconductor laser element is provided between the second conductive member and the first conductive member. The semiconductor laser element includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a semiconductor member. The semiconductor laser element includes a first face. The first electrode is provided on the first face. The semiconductor laser element is configured to pass light emitted from the semiconductor member through the first face and the opening. The fixing member causes the second conductive member and the semiconductor laser element to be in contact with each other, and cause the first conductive member and the semiconductor laser element to be in contact with each other.
