A system to ensure secure coupling and proper electrical interfacing between the module and a motherboard. A module for the IHS comprises a circuit board having a first side and a second side opposite the first side; a hole in the circuit board; a first contact adjacent to the hole; a second contact adjacent to the hole and spaced apart from the first contact; and a module connector attached to a bottom surface of the circuit board, the module connector having a plurality of pins or sockets. The first contact is electrically connected to a selected pin or socket on a module connector. A fastener extends through the hole. When the fastener is touching both the first contact and the second contact, the selected pin or socket is electrically connected to ground when the head end is touching both the first contact and the second contact.
