Abstract
A solid-state battery module comprises a hermetically sealed enclosure configured to prevent the ingress and egress of gases, ensuring a controlled internal environment. Within the hermetically sealed enclosure, one or more solid-state battery cells are positioned as energy storage components. A pressurizing material is disposed within the enclosure and is configured to apply isostatic pressure to the solid-state battery cells, maintaining stable interfacial contact, enhancing electrochemical performance, and mitigating mechanical stress to improve the reliability and longevity of the battery module.
Claims20
A solid-state battery module, comprising:
- a hermetically sealed enclosure configured to prevent the ingress and egress of gases;
- one or more solid-state battery cells disposed within the hermetically sealed enclosure;
- and
- a pressurizing material positioned within the hermetically sealed enclosure, wherein the pressurizing material is configured to apply isostatic pressure to the one or more solid-state battery cells.
A method for manufacturing a solid-state battery module, comprising:
- placing one or more solid-state battery cells within an enclosure;
- positioning a pressurizing material within the enclosure;
- and
- hermetically sealing the enclosure to create a hermetically sealed solid-state battery module.
A method for operating a solid-state battery module, comprising:
- providing a hermetically sealed solid-state battery module comprising:
- one or more solid-state battery cells;
- and
- a pressurizing material within a hermetically sealed enclosure;
- and
- activating the pressurizing material to apply isostatic pressure to the one or more solid-state battery cells.
