Training lesson authoring and execution

A computing system, comprising:

• one or more computing processors;
• and
• memory coupled with the one or more computer processors, the memory storing instructions that when executed by the one or more computing processors cause the computing system to:
• configure a flight simulator according to initial conditions in a lesson file for a lesson associated with an aircraft;
• receive, from the flight simulator, events that affect operation of the aircraft;
• translate the events into inputs for a plane simulator, the events received from the flight simulator in a format that is different than a format of inputs for the flight simulator, and the plane simulator being separate from the flight simulator;
• receive, responsive to the inputs, outputs indicating updated flight parameters from the plane simulator;
• and
• evaluate one or more of the events or the outputs to determine whether a step of the lesson was performed correctly.

A computing system, comprising:

• one or more computing processors;
• and
• memory coupled with the one or more computer processors, the memory storing instructions that when executed by the one or more computing processors cause the computing system to:
• configure a flight simulator according to initial conditions in a lesson file for a lesson associated with an aircraft;
• provide, to a plane simulator, inputs associated with events that affect operation of the aircraft, the plane simulator being separate from the flight simulator;
• receive, from the plane simulator, outputs indicating a change of function or operation of the aircraft;
• translate the outputs from the plane simulator into inputs that can be received by the flight simulator, a data format or namespace of the outputs different from a data format or namespace of the inputs;
• and
• update the flight simulator based on the translated outputs.

A method, comprising:

• receiving, from a flight simulator, events that affect operation of an aircraft;
• translating the events into inputs for a plane simulator;
• receiving, responsive to the inputs, outputs indicating updated flight parameters from the plane simulator, the events received from the flight simulator in a data format or namespace of the outputs different from a data format or namespace of the inputs for the flight simulator, and the plane simulator being separate from the flight simulator;
• translating the outputs from the plane simulator into inputs that can be received by the flight simulator;
• and
• evaluating one or more of the events or the outputs to determine whether a procedure, of a lesson for a system of the aircraft, was performed correctly.
