Abstract
A data device can include a cable port to couple the data device with a communications cable of a fire detection system. The data device can include an input circuit to detect a signal transmitted via the communications cable. The input circuit can record a data point associated with the signal. The data device can include a memory to store the data point. The data device can include an output circuit to transmit the data point stored in the memory to an external device.
Claims20
A data device, comprising:
- a cable port to couple the data device with a communications cable of a fire detection system;
- an input circuit to detect a signal transmitted via the communications cable, the input circuit to record a data point associated with the signal;
- a memory to store the data point;
- and
- an output circuit to transmit the data point stored in the memory to an external device.
A method of monitoring a fire detection system, comprising:
- detecting, by a data device, a signal transmitted via a communications cable of the fire detection system, the data device communicably and electrically coupled with the communications cable;
- recording, by the data device, a data point associated with the signal;
- storing, by the data device, the data point;
- and
- outputting, by the data device, the data point to an external device.
A fire detection system, comprising:
- a fire panel;
- a device disposed remote from the fire panel;
- a communications cable coupling the fire panel with the device, the device to transmit a signal via the communications cable;
- and
- a data device to couple with the communications cable, the data device comprising:
- an input circuit to detect the signal transmitted via the communications cable, the input circuit to record a data point associated with the signal;
- a memory to store the data point;
- and
- an output circuit to transmit the data point stored in the memory to an external device.
