An alarm system for detecting bladder pressure tank failures is presented. The system includes a housing removably coupled to a Schrader valve of the pressure tank such that the interior of the housing is in fluid communication with the valve. In one embodiment, a continuity switch comprising electrodes is positioned within the housing to detect fluid entering from the Schrader valve, wherein contact of the fluid with the electrodes completes an electrical circuit to activate an alarm output device. In another embodiment, a pressure sensor is configured to measure pressure in the pressure tank and to trigger the alarm output device based on predefined pressure conditions. In a further embodiment, a control unit processes pressure measurements over multiple operating cycles to establish a baseline pressure-response profile and detect deviations indicative of bladder degradation.
