Abstract
An apparatus of multi-lens ground-to-air aerial object detection includes a multi-camera system and a multi-axis gimbal system on which the multi-camera system is mounted. The multi-camera system is configured to capture images across a range of altitudes. The multi-camera system includes different imaging devices with different lenses of different fields of view (FOVs). The different FOVs correspond to different observation distance ranges. The different imaging devices provide different target pixel densities at different distances. At the different distances, at least one of the different imaging devices maintains a target representation above a minimum resolution threshold.
Claims11
An apparatus of multi-lens ground-to-air aerial object detection, comprising:
- a multi-camera system configured to capture images across a range of altitudes,
- wherein the multi-camera system comprises different imaging devices with different lenses of different fields of view (FOVs),
- wherein the different FOVs correspond to different observation distance ranges,
- wherein the different imaging devices provide different target pixel densities at different distances, and
- wherein at the different distances, at least one of the different imaging devices maintains a target representation above a minimum resolution threshold.
