A suspicious person detection method performed by a computer, comprising:

• acquiring position information indicating a position of a cart used by a person in a store;
• determining that a movement of the cart is suspicious, based on time-series data of the position information;
• acquiring vital data of the person who uses the cart, in a case where it is determined that the movement of the cart is suspicious;
• determining whether the person is a suspicious person, based on the vital data;
• and
• issuing a notification, in a case where the person is determined as the suspicious person.

A non-transitory recording medium recording a program for causing a computer to execute processing comprising:

• acquiring position information indicating a position of a cart used by a person in a store;
• determining that a movement of the cart is suspicious, based on time-series data of the position information;
• acquiring vital data of the person who uses the cart, in a case where it is determined that the movement of the cart is suspicious;
• determining whether the person is a suspicious person, based on the vital data;
• and
• issuing a notification, in a case where the person is determined as the suspicious person.
