Abstract

A method and system for accessing information regarding a condition of a consumable product dispenser in a washroom facility is provided. Each product dispenser contained in the washroom facility or in a plurality of facilities can include sensors for determining product levels, power levels, or operating conditions. A server system stores the conditions of each product dispenser. An image recognition application loaded onto a mobile device is configured to recognize a particular product dispenser from the plurality of dispensers and to access and communicate to a user the condition of the product dispenser stored on the server system. The method and system of the present disclosure not only simplifies obtaining information regarding a product dispenser but also does so without draining battery power from any of the product dispensers.

Dependent claims

A method of accessing information regarding a condition of a consumable product dispenser in a washroom facility comprising:

detecting a condition of a plurality of product dispensers in multiple washroom facilities, each product dispenser being configured to dispense a consumable product that requires periodic refilling, the condition comprising at least one of a product level, a power level, an operational condition, or combinations thereof;
storing washroom facility files on a server system, each of the washroom facility files being associated with a particular washroom facility of the multiple washroom facilities, the one or more washroom facility files including information regarding the condition of the product dispensers;
and
placing a mobile device in proximity to one of the product dispensers and accessing an image recognition application, the image recognition application being configured to recognize the particular product dispenser from the plurality of dispensers and to access and communicate to a user the stored condition of the product dispenser.

A system for accessing information regarding a condition of a consumable product dispenser in a washroom facility comprising:

a plurality of product dispensers located within a plurality of washroom facilities wherein each washroom facility includes at least one product dispenser, each product dispenser requiring periodic refill of a consumable product;
at least one sensor configured within each of the product dispensers that detects a condition of the product dispenser, the condition comprising at least one of a product level, a power level, an operating condition, or combinations thereof;
a server system configured to store washroom facility files, each of the washroom facility files being associated with a particular washroom facility of the plurality of washroom facilities, the server system configured to receive information regarding the condition of each product dispenser and configured to store the information, the washroom facility files including the information regarding the condition of each product dispenser;
and
an image recognition application loaded onto a mobile device, the image recognition application being configured to recognize a particular product dispenser from the plurality of product dispensers based on receiving optical data related to the particular product dispenser from the mobile device, the image recognition application being in communication with the server system and being configured to communicate to a user the stored condition of the particular product dispenser.
