A method, computer program product and system for ensuring a smooth user experience in a multi-user augmented reality system. A computing device (“master”) shares a quadtree data structure of an image with a virtual 3D object with another computing device (“slave”), which inputs the quadtree data structure into a machine learning (ML) model to obtain ML results which is used by the slave to render an image of the virtual 3D object in the field of view of the slave, which may experience slight offset. The slave transforms the rendered image into a quadtree data structure, which is shared with the master along with the ML results. The master then inputs the received information into its ML model. The ML results from the ML model may include correction values, which may be applied to the image previously rendered by the master. This iterative process continues until corrections are not necessary.
