Abstract
The present disclosure describes a method of quantifying analyte levels using gold nanoparticles. The present disclosure also describes a device to quantify analyte levels using gold nanoparticles and image processing of pixels isolated from a single vector. The methods, devices, and systems of the disclosure can be used to quantify analytes such as luteinizing hormone, progesterone, estradiol, or testosterone.
Claims20
A method for analyzing a biological sample, the method comprising:
- (a) providing an image comprising:
- (i) a detection region of a substrate in contact with a biological sample from a subject, wherein the detection region comprises a detection agent that undergoes a change in a visible property of at least a portion of the detection region in response to contact with an analyte from the biological sample;
- and
- (ii) an information storage code associated with a manufacturing batch of the substrate;
- (b) processing, via a computer processor, a pixel characteristic of the detection region of the image, thereby determining an amount or concentration of the analyte in the biological sample,
- wherein the pixel characteristic corresponds to the visible property of the at least the portion of the detection agent or a change thereof, and
- wherein the pixel characteristic is calibrated in accordance with one or more calibration indices associated with the manufacturing batch of the substrate, wherein the one or more calibration indices are stored in a database and accessible via the information storage code;
- and
- (c) generating, via the computer processor, a report associated with the amount or concentration of the analyte.
