Abstract
Methods involve performing a stabilizer measurement on a set of qubits to obtain a syndrome and, based on the syndrome, identifying errors in at least one of the qubits of the set of qubits using belief propagation based on a plurality of check node specific scaling factors. The method also involves, based on the identified error, correcting the identified error by applying at least one gate to the set of qubits or performing a classical operation.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- obtaining a syndrome based on a stabilizer measurement performed on a set of qubits, wherein the set of qubits is encoded based on a code that is representable as a set of variable nodes and a set of check nodes, wherein selected check nodes are coupled to selected variable nodes;
- based on the syndrome, identifying errors in at least one of the qubits of the set of qubits using belief propagation based on a plurality of check node specific scaling factors αi, wherein an Åh scaling factor αi in the plurality of check node specific scaling factors is associated with an ith check node in the set of check nodes.
A computer readable medium comprising stored computer executable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a system, will cause the system to:
- obtain a syndrome based on a stabilizer measurement performed on a set of qubits, wherein the set of qubits is encoded based on a code that is representable as a set of variable nodes and a set of check nodes, wherein selected check nodes are coupled to selected variable nodes;
- and
- based on the syndrome, identify errors in at least one of the qubits of the set of qubits using belief propagation based on a plurality of check node specific scaling factors αi, wherein an ith scaling factor αi in the plurality of check node specific scaling factors is associated with an ith check node in the set of check nodes.
A quantum device, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one process-readable memory coupled to the at least one processor and having stored thereon processor-executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, will cause the quantum device to:
- obtain a syndrome based on a stabilizer measurement performed on a set of qubits, wherein the set of qubits is encoded based on a code that is representable as a set of variable nodes and a set of check nodes, wherein selected check nodes are coupled to selected variable nodes;
- and
- based on the syndrome, identify errors in at least one of the qubits of the set of qubits using belief propagation based on a plurality of check node specific scaling factors αi, wherein an ith scaling factor αi in the plurality of check node specific scaling factors is associated with an ith check node in the set of check nodes.
