An information processing device for generating a hypothesis model for covariance structure analysis, the device includes, one or more processors and a memory storing instructions executable by the processors, the instructions causing the processors to, perform a causal discovery process on data representing a plurality of observation variables to infer relationships among a plurality of elements including at least one latent factor associated with the observation variables, and generate, based on the inferred relationships, a hypothesis model for covariance structure analysis from the plurality of elements, the hypothesis model being represented as a directed graph structure including nodes corresponding to the observation variables and the at least one latent factor, and edges parameterized by path coefficients.
