Abstract
Systems and methods for database migration are described. The systems and methods are described as encompassing a series of operations including receiving a message to a first database system where the first database system includes a production service coupled to a first database, and transmitting the message to the production service. The operations include storing the message in a message queue in a second database system including a test service coupled to the second database. The operations include transmitting the message to the test service, and, in response to the message, receiving a test response from the test service. The operations include logging the test response.
Claims20
A method comprising, during a database migration from a first database system to a second database system:
- receiving, at an interceptor service, a message directed to the first database system, the first database system including a production service coupled to a first database;
- duplicating, via the interceptor service, the message into a first message and a second message;
- transmitting the first message to the production service;
- transmitting a response generated by the first database system;
- transmitting the second message to a message queue in the second database system including a test service coupled to a second database;
- storing the second message in the message queue transmitting the second message to the test service;
- receiving, in response to the second message, a test response from the test service;
- and
- logging the test response.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors configured to, during a database migration from a first database system to a second database system:
- receive, at an interceptor service, a message directed to the first database system, the first database system including a production service coupled to a first database;
- duplicate, via the interceptor service, the message into a first message and a second message;
- transmit first the message to the production service;
- transmit a response generated by the first database system;
- transmit the second message to a message queue in the second database system including a test service coupled to a second database;
- store the second message in the message queue in the second database system including a test service coupled to a second database;
- transmit the second message to the test service;
- receive, in response to the second message, a test response from the test service;
- and
- log the test response.
A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to, during a database migration from a first database system to a second database system:
- receive, at an interceptor service, a message directed to the first database system, the first database system including a production service coupled to a first database;
- duplicate, via the interceptor service, the message into a first message and a second message;
- transmit the first message to the production service;
- transmit a response generated by the first database system;
- transmit the second message to a message queue in the second database system including a test service coupled to a second database;
- store the second message in the message queue in the second database system including a test service coupled to a second database;
- transmit the second message to the test service;
- receive, in response to the second message, a test response from the test service;
- and
- log the test response.
