Abstract
Provided are systems and methods for concurrent summarization of indexed data. In some embodiments, two or more summary processes can be executed concurrently (e.g., in parallel) by an indexer to generate summaries for respective subsets of indexed data (e.g., partitions or buckets of indexed data) managed by the indexer.

1. A method comprising:
- identifying, by a search head of a data processing system, a summary to be generated for indexed data;
- identifying, by the search head, one or more indexers for serving a summary request corresponding to the summary to be generated, wherein each of the one or more indexers manages a data store having data relevant to the summary;
- scheduling, by the search head, communication of the summary request based on processing loads of the one or more indexers;
- and
- communicating, by the search head, the summary request to the one or more indexers in accordance with the scheduling.

One or more non-transitory computer readable media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform the steps of:
- identifying, by a search head of a data processing system, a summary to be generated for indexed data;

- scheduling, by the search head, communication of the summary request based on processing loads of the one or more indexers;
