Active copper-based interconnect system for computing circuits

An interconnect device, comprising:

• a linear re-driver configured to:
• receive a first electrical input signal from at least one first computing circuit;
• boost the first electrical input signal to form a boosted electrical signal;
• and
• output the boosted electrical signal, wherein the interconnect device is configured to provide the boosted electrical signal to one or more second computing circuits over one or more wired connections, and wherein the boost to the first electrical input signal compensates for a known loss associated with the one or more wired connections.

A datacenter, comprising:

• a first circuit board comprising one or more first computing circuits;
• a second circuit board comprising one or more second computing circuits;
• and
• an interconnect device coupled between the one or more first computing circuits and the one or more second computing circuits;
• wherein the interconnect device comprises:
• a linear re-driver configured to:
• receive a first electrical input signal from at least one of the one or more first computing circuits;
• boost the first electrical input signal to form a boosted electrical signal;
• and
• output the boosted electrical signal, wherein the interconnect device is configured to provide the boosted electrical signal to the one or more second computing circuits over one or more wired connections, and wherein the boost to the first electrical input signal compensates for a known loss associated with the one or more wired connections.
