Abstract
A storage system determines whether write data of a write request at least partially matches stored data associated with input/output (I/O) requests based on a comparison between a fingerprint corresponding to the write data and a plurality of fingerprints corresponding to the stored data. In response to determining that the write data at least partially matches the stored data, the storage system compresses together the stored data and the write data.

A method comprising:
- determining whether write data of a write request at least partially matches stored data associated with input/output (I/O) requests based on a comparison between a fingerprint corresponding to the write data and a plurality of fingerprints corresponding to the stored data;
- and
- in response to determining that the write data at least partially matches the stored data, compressing together the stored data and the write data.
A storage system comprising:
- a plurality of storage devices;
- and
- a storage system controller, operatively coupled to the plurality of storage devices, configured to:
- determine whether write data of a write request at least partially matches stored data associated with input/output (I/O) requests based on a comparison between a fingerprint corresponding to the write data and a plurality of fingerprints corresponding to the stored data;
- and
- in response to determining that the write data at least partially matches the stored data, compress together the stored data and the write data.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a storage system controller to:
