Smart-backup system for a collaborative content-management platform

A smart-backup system for a collaborative content-management platform, the system comprising:

• a memory storing one or more processor-executable routines;
• and
• a processor communicatively coupled to the memory, the processor configured to execute the one or more processor-executable routines to:
• access one or more associated subsites and cloud-containers of the platform to retrieve associated properties of each of the associated subsites and cloud-containers;
• list each of the one or more associated subsites and cloud-containers using depth-first search (DFS);
• compare a last modified time of the listed subsites and cloud-containers with the respective previous backup time to identify modified subsites;
• and
• determine one or more modified cloud-containers using change token APIs;
• and
• initiate backup of the one or modified cloud-containers.

A method of performing a backup of a content-management platform, the method comprising:

• receiving a backup request for the content-management platform;
• retrieving properties corresponding to one or more associated subsites and cloud-containers of the platform;
• listing each of the one or more associated subsites and cloud-containers using a recursive traversal routine;
• sorting each of the listed subsites and cloud-containers based on a last modified time;
• and
• performing an incremental backup of the platform based upon the last modified time.
