Cloud environment migration system

A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising one or more sequences of instructions, which, when executed by a processor, causes a system to perform operations comprising:

• deploying a migration manager within a current cloud environment associated with an enterprise;
• receiving, by the migration manager, a request to generate a migration plan for migrating resources associated with the current cloud environment to a target cloud environment;
• automatically ingesting, by the migration manager, data from a plurality of data sources natively available in the current cloud environment, the automatically ingesting comprising:
• monitoring API call logs generated by the current cloud environment to observe API calls made during execution of a workload associated with the enterprise, and
• collecting, via a configuration service of the current cloud environment, state data of resources deployed in the current cloud environment;
• for each of a plurality of cloud capabilities, producing, by the migration manager, a signature comprising at least one of a set of indicative API calls, a specific configuration set, or a specific set of resources;
• matching, by the migration manager, the signatures against the data ingested from the plurality of data sources to identify which of the plurality of cloud capabilities are used by the workload;
• generating, by the migration manager, based on the identified cloud capabilities, a list of cloud capabilities used by the workload in the current cloud environment;
• and
• based on the list of cloud capabilities, generating, by the migration manager, the migration plan for migrating the resources from the current cloud environment to the target cloud environment.

A system comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory having programming instructions stored therein, which, when executed by the processor, causes the system to perform operations comprising:
• deploying a migration manager within a current cloud environment associated with an enterprise;
• receiving, by the migration manager, a request to generate a migration plan for migrating resources associated with the current cloud environment to a target cloud environment;
• automatically ingesting, by the migration manager, data from a plurality of data sources natively available in the current cloud environment, the automatically ingesting comprising:
• monitoring API call logs generated by the current cloud environment to observe API calls made during execution of a workload associated with the enterprise, and
• collecting, via a configuration service of the current cloud environment, state data of resources deployed in the current cloud environment;
• for each of a plurality of cloud capabilities, producing, by the migration manager, a signature comprising at least one of a set of indicative API calls, a specific configuration set, or a specific set of resources;
• matching, by the migration manager, the signatures against the data ingested from the plurality of data sources to identify which of the plurality of cloud capabilities are used by the workload;
• generating, by the migration manager, based on the identified cloud capabilities, a list of cloud capabilities used by the workload in the current cloud environment;
• and
• based on the list of cloud capabilities, generating, by the migration manager, the migration plan for migrating the resources from the current cloud environment to the target cloud environment.
