A system and method for hierarchical verification propagation in distributed task delegation systems. Computational entities—including autonomous software agents, microservices, robotic systems, and human-supervised processes—delegate sub-tasks through tree-structured task specification record hierarchies. When a child task specification record completes verification, a sibling-complete aggregation algorithm acquires a row-level exclusion lock on the parent record, queries all sibling records, determines whether all have reached terminal verification states, computes an aggregate outcome, atomically transitions the parent through defined state machine states, and appends cryptographically hash-chained audit entries within the same database transaction. Upon committing, a deferred propagation job is enqueued to a durable message queue for the next ancestor level, enabling bounded, durable recursive propagation through delegation chains of configurable maximum depth. Circular delegation is prevented through recursive ancestor traversal at chain creation time.
