Object-Based Approach To Digitize And Update Virtual Cards Onto Mobile Devices Over-The-Air, In A Secure Element Or In A Host Card Emulation Environment, Following A Unified Flow

A method of updating a virtual card on a computing device, the virtual card associated with an application executed by the computing device, the method implemented by a processing resource, the method comprising:

• initializing a card update process;
• obtaining a card object from an emulation environment associated with the application, wherein the card object comprises cryptographic assets associated with the emulation environment;
• sending the card object to a card management server with a request for an updated card object, where the card object is sent using an environment agnostic pathway;
• receiving an updated card object from the card management server via an environment agnostic pathway;
• and
• updating the virtual card using the updated card object.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having stored thereon executable instructions for updating a virtual card on a computing device, the virtual card associated with an application executed by the computing device, the executable instructions, when executed by a processor of a computer system, cause the processor to:

• initialize a card update process;
• obtain a card object from an emulation environment, wherein the card object comprises cryptographic assets associated with the emulation environment;
• send the card object to a card management server with a request for an updated card object, where the card object is sent using an environment agnostic pathway;
• receive an updated card object from the card management server via an environment agnostic pathway;
• and
• update the virtual card using the updated card object.
