Dynamic application theme system

A computer-implemented method comprising:

• receiving a campaign specification defining a dynamic theme campaign for modifying a visual appearance of an application;
• storing dynamic theme assets associated with the dynamic theme campaign;
• detecting a trigger event specified by the campaign specification;
• in response to detecting the trigger event, causing the stored dynamic theme assets to be downloaded to a subset of a plurality of computing devices having the application installed;
• causing modification of a first visual appearance of multiple user interface elements of the application, on each computing device of the subset of the plurality of computing devices, by applying the downloaded dynamic theme assets to the multiple user interface elements of the application, the multiple user interface elements comprising at least one of text color, icon color, background, and buttons;
• maintaining the modified visual appearance for a specified campaign duration;
• and
• upon detecting expiration of the specified campaign duration, reverting the visual appearance of the multiple user interface elements to the first visual appearance before the modification, on each computing device of the subset of the plurality of computing devices.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:

• receiving a campaign specification defining a dynamic theme campaign for modifying a visual appearance of an application;
• storing dynamic theme assets associated with the dynamic theme campaign;
• detecting a trigger event specified by the campaign specification;
• in response to detecting the trigger event, causing the stored dynamic theme assets to be downloaded to a subset of a plurality of computing devices having the application installed;
• causing modification of a first visual appearance of multiple user interface elements of the application, on each computing device of the subset of the plurality of computing devices, by applying the downloaded dynamic theme assets to the multiple user interface elements of the application, the multiple user interface elements comprising at least one of text color, icon color, background, and buttons;
• maintaining the modified visual appearance for a specified campaign duration;
• and
• upon detecting expiration of the specified campaign duration, reverting the visual appearance of the multiple user interface elements to the first visual appearance before the modification, on each computing device of the subset of the plurality of computing devices.
