Abstract
A second storage of a storage system including a first storage and the second storage stores data in a storage pool correspondingly to a plurality of physical drives having different costs and performance. The second storage migrates the data between the plurality of physical drives having different costs and performance according to a state of an application using the data.

A storage system comprising:
- a first storage;
- and
- a second storage, wherein
- each of the first storage and the second storage includes
- a physical drive configured to physically store data,
- a storage pool formed based on a storage area of the physical drive,
- a logical volume mapped to the storage pool and provided as a request destination of an I/O request,
- a memory, and
- a processor,
- the first storage includes a first logical volume,
- the second storage includes a second logical volume corresponding to the first logical volume, and
- the second storage
- stores the data in the storage pool correspondingly to the plurality of physical drives having different costs and performance with each other, and
- migrates the data between the plurality of physical drives having different costs and performance according to a state of an application using the data.
