Recognition-based autonomous navigation systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media are disclosed. Sensor data for an environment of an autonomous or semi-autonomous platform is received, and a recognition metric is derived from sensed, computed, inferred, or estimated values. The recognition metric is normalized and mapped to a bounded recognition factor. The bounded recognition factor is applied to weighting of sensor-derived inputs to produce a fused perceptual output, scaling of neural inference or detection quantities to produce a detected-object output, adjustment of path-planning costs to produce a path output, and mapping of risk-related inputs to produce a priority for tasks, control decisions, or resource allocation. The outputs are used to generate control commands for the platform.
