Abstract
Systems and methods use a computer vision camera to determine where bridles and other rigging items are positioned and provide that information to a control system. This information is used to place the elements of the rigging system before each live performance.
Claims16
A system for determining and implementing a calibrated operating state for a rigging system, comprising:
- a plurality of movement mechanisms, each including at least one line supporting an object;
- at least one imaging system configured to capture image data corresponding to physical components of the movement mechanisms during motion of the object;
- a processing system configured to:
- (i) extract geometric information representative of positions of one or more components of the movement mechanisms from the image data;
- (ii) generate a calibration of the rigging system based on the extracted geometric information, the calibration representing spatial relationships between the movement mechanisms and the supported object;
- and
- (iii) automatically configure a control system using the calibration to control coordinated movement of the object;
- wherein the control system is configured to control the movement mechanisms based on the calibration model to position the object within a three-dimensional space.
5 more elements
A method of operating a rigging system, comprising:
- moving an object using a plurality of movement mechanisms suspended by at least one line;
- continuously capturing visual data of the rigging system during the moving of the object;
- determining, from the visual data, changes in positions of one or more components of the movement mechanisms over time;
- updating a calibration of the rigging system based on the determined changes;
- and
- adjusting control signals to the movement mechanisms during the movement of the object based on the updated calibration model to maintain a desired trajectory of the object.
