Image forming apparatus

Abstract

An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a transfer member, a feeding portion and a cleaning member. The transfer member forms a transfer portion for transferring the toner image from the image bearing member to a recording material. The cleaning member has water absorbing property and provided so as to contact a surface, of the recording material fed out from the feeding portion and toward the transfer portion, which is in contact with the image bearing member in the transfer portion. The cleaning member has a water absorption time of less than 60 sec in measurement method for measuring a water absorption speed by a dropping method according to JIS L 1907:2010 and a water absorption height of 2 mm or more in measurement method for measuring a water absorption speed by Byreck Method according to JIS L 1907:2010.
