Abstract
There is disclosed an optic fiber cassette, comprising a housing, at least one cable spool, at least one retainer. The housing comprises a cable retaining surface, each of the at least one cable spool extends above the cable retaining surface, each of the at least one retainer is secured to an outer free end of a respective one of the at least one cable spool and each of the at least one retainer comprises a pair of fingers extending outwards from the central portion in order to prevent optic fibers held within the cassette from being dislodged from the cable retaining surface.
Claims1
A device for providing enhanced cable management, comprising:
- an enhanced fiber optic cable retaining assembly, comprising:
- a housing portion comprising a cable retaining surface portion, a pair of opposed side portions, a first wall portion extending between the pair of side portions, and a second wall portion extending between the pair of side portions opposite the first wall portion;
- a cable support portion structurally arranged to extend from the cable retaining surface;
- a cable retaining portion structurally arranged to be coupled with an outer end portion of the cable support portion;
- wherein the cable retaining surface, the first panel, the second panel, and the pair of opposed side portions together define a fiber optic cable receiving space;
- wherein the cable support portion extends from the cable retaining surface into the fiber optic cable receiving space;
- wherein the cable retaining portion comprises a central portion defining a cable support portion receiving portion;
- wherein an inner surface portion of the cable support portion receiving portion is structurally arranged to engage the outer end portion by a friction fit;
- and
- wherein the fiber optic cable retaining assembly is structurally arranged to provide enhanced cable management by retaining a portion of a fiber optic cable between the cable retaining portion and the cable retaining surface portion and/or maintaining a minimum bend radius of an optical fiber supported by the cable support portion.
