Optoelectronic module

An optoelectronic module, comprising:

• a substrate structure defining a first surface and a second surface opposing to each other, and an edge portion connecting the first and second surfaces;
• wherein the substrate structure includes a substrate layer;
• a planar circuit arranged on the first surface of the substrate structure;
• a wiring layer arranged on the edge portion of the substrate structure and electrically coupled to the planar circuit;
• wherein the wiring layer at least defines a plurality of conductive pads;
• an optoelectronic component unit, including one or more optoelectronic components, arranged on the edge portion of the substrate structure and connected to one or ones of the conductive pads of the wiring layer, wherein one or ones of the optoelectronic components are electrically coupled to the planar circuit through the conductive pad or pads;
• and
• an optical transmission component optically coupled to the optoelectronic component;
• wherein the optoelectronic component performs signal conversion between optical signals and electrical signals;
• the electrical signals are transmitted between the planar circuit and the optoelectronic component through the wiring layer, and the optical signals are transmitted between the optical transmission component and the optoelectronic component.
