A method for geo-locating a target station including transmitting, from a measuring station, ranging packets to a target station and receiving, at the measuring station, response packets in response to the ranging packets. Round trip times (RTTs) are determined based on the ranging packets and the response packets and angles of arrival (AOAs) are determined based on the response packets. A plurality of RTT circular error probability (CEP) ellipses are generated based on the RTTs and a plurality of AOA CEP ellipses are generated based on the AOAs. An RTT stability factor is calculated for a first RTT CEP ellipse and an AOA stability factor is calculated for a first AOA CEP ellipse. The RTT and AOA stability factors are compared to a threshold and, based on at least one result of the comparisons, either the first RTT CEP ellipse, the first AOA CEP ellipse, both CEP ellipses, or neither CEP ellipse is selected for display to locate the target station
