Abstract
A Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance (NQR) spectrometer comprising a System on Chip (SoC) Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) communicatively coupled to an external memory. The SoC FPGA is configured to perform the function of a pulse programmer for producing pulse sequences. The pulse programmer is configured for reading, sequentially, instructions stored on the external memory. The SoC FPGA is further configured to perform the function of an acquisition module for processing an acquired analog response signal (FID) emitted by nuclei of a material to be studied and for recording the processed signal on the external memory.

A Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance (NQR) spectrometer comprising a System on Chip (SoC) Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) communicatively coupled to an external memory, the SoC FPGA being configured to perform the functions of:
- a pulse programmer for producing one or more pulse sequences, the pulse programmer being configured for reading, sequentially, instructions stored on the external memory;
- and
- an acquisition module for processing an acquired analog response signal (FID) emitted by nuclei of a material to be studied, the acquired analog response signal containing one or more frequencies each including a respective offset Δνi with respect to the RF excitation pulse, and for recording the processed signal on the external memory.
