Systems and methods for improving a quality of a video stream from an imaging bay and facilitate a remote expert user to visually guide a local operator in image acquisition workflow

A system for assisting a medical imaging examination of a patient, the apparatus comprising:

• a remote processing device operable by a remote user and configured to monitor the medical imaging examination;
• a local operator processing device operable by a local operator and configured to perform the medical imaging examination and having a display device;
• and
• at least one processor configured to:
• obtain a video stream of the medical imaging examination at the remote electronic processing device;
• obtain, via at least one input provided by the remote user on the remote electronic processing device, at least one annotation on a base image in the video stream;
• superimpose the at least one annotation on the video stream to generate an annotated video stream;
• and
• transmit the annotated video stream to the local operator electronic processing device and displaying the annotated video stream on the display device of the local operator electronic processing device.
