Abstract
Provided are a method and apparatus for detecting a battery cell with a welding defect. The method of detecting a battery cell with a welding defect includes obtaining a voltage value of each of a plurality of battery cells charged under a selected charging condition, calculating a threshold value based on the voltage values of the plurality of battery cells at an identified state of charge (SOC) and detecting a battery cell of the plurality of battery cells with a welding defect by comparing the voltage value of one or more of the plurality of battery cells at the identified SOC with the threshold value.
Claims20
A method for detecting a battery cell with a welding defect, the method comprising:
- obtaining a voltage value of each of a plurality of battery cells charged under a selected charging condition;
- calculating a threshold value based on the voltage values of the plurality of battery cells at an identified state of charge (SOC);
- and
- detecting a battery cell of the plurality of battery cells with a welding defect by comparing the voltage value of one or more of the plurality of battery cells at the identified SOC with the threshold value.
An apparatus for detecting a battery cell with a welding defect, the apparatus comprising:
- a memory in which at least one program is stored;
- and
- a processor operating by executing the at least one program, wherein the processor is configured to:
- obtain a voltage value of each of a plurality of battery cells charged under a selected charging condition;
- calculate a threshold value based on the voltage values of the plurality of battery cells at an identified state of charge (SOC);
- and
- compare the voltage value of one or more of the plurality of battery cells at the identified SOC with the threshold value.
