Abstract
Methods are described for use of encryption methods for multiple network groups with different passkeys. A gateway may be configured so that the gateway may manage an authentication process of particular or pre-identified devices wireless devices differently from other devices. The gateway may determine if the device is a pre-identified device and if the passkey used by the device is an authorized passkey, and may authenticate the device using a particular encryption method.

A method comprising:
- establishing, by a gateway offering connection to a wireless network based on any of a plurality of different wireless encryption protocols, and using a first passkey associated with a first wireless encryption protocol of the plurality of different wireless encryption protocols, a connection between a first wireless device and the wireless network;
- allowing, based on the first passkey being associated with the first wireless encryption protocol, the first wireless device to access a first set of one or more network resources;
- establishing, by the gateway and using a second passkey associated with a second wireless encryption protocol of the plurality of different wireless encryption protocols, a connection between a second wireless device and the wireless network, wherein the second wireless encryption protocol is different from the first wireless encryption protocol;
- and
- allowing, based on the second passkey being associated with the second wireless encryption protocol, the second wireless device to access a second set of one or more network resources, wherein the second set of one or more network resources is different from the first set of one or more network resources.

- receiving, from a first wireless device by a gateway offering a connection to a wireless network based on any of a plurality of different wireless encryption protocols, a first request, for connection to the wireless network, that comprises a first passkey;
- establishing, by the gateway and using the first passkey and a first wireless encryption protocol of the plurality of different wireless encryption protocols, a connection between the first wireless device and the wireless network;
- receiving, from a second wireless device by the gateway, a second request, for connection to the wireless network, that comprises a second passkey;
