Abstract

An automatic analysis apparatus according to embodiments analyzes a liquid sample by measuring optical characteristics and includes a reaction vessel, an introduction unit, and a photometric system. The reaction vessel configured to contain a mixed solution of the liquid sample and a reagent, and have a reaction area where the mixed solution is caused to react, and a photometric area provided below the reaction area in a vertical direction, the photometric area being a target for a measurement of the optical characteristics. The introduction unit configured to introduce the mixed solution into the photometric area by applying a voltage to change wettability of the mixed solution to an inside surface of the photometric area. The photometric system configured to measure the optical characteristics of the mixed solution introduced into the photometric area.
