A sample selection method comprising:

• storing information regarding selection of a region when a user selects the region from a first image of a first sample from which predetermined quality information can be recognized, based on proficiency information of the user in association with the first image;
• and
• cutting out a second sample from the selected region or performing image analysis of the selected region.

An image management device comprising:

• a controller that causes a storage section to store information regarding selection of a region when a user selects the region from a first image of a first sample from which predetermined quality information can be recognized, based on proficiency information of the user in association with the first image.

An image display device comprising:

• a controller that causes a storage section to store information regarding selection of a region when a user selects the region from a first image of a first sample from which predetermined quality information can be recognized, based on proficiency information of the user in association with the first image,
• wherein the controller acquires an image similar to the first sample from the storage section and causes a display part to display information related to the selection of the region in association with the acquired image.
