Disclosed herein are embodiments of a goniometric flow cytometry system, which may comprise: (i) a sample flow path configured for flowing a plurality of samples through a sample plane; (ii) an input light source configured to illuminate the sample plane; (iii) a set of forward scatter (FSC) detection optics configured to direct FSC light from the sample plane to one or more image sensors and cause presentation of an FSC angular scattering field from the FSC light at the one or more image sensors; and (iv) a set of side scatter (SSC) detection optics configured to direct SSC light from the sample plane to one or more image sensors and cause presentation of an SSC angular scattering field from the SSC light at the one or more image sensors. Data captured using an embodiment of goniometric flow cytometry system may be used to identify or classify one or more samples.
