Seal inspection apparatus

A seal inspection apparatus that inspects a seal state of a packaged commodity, the seal inspection apparatus comprising:

• a transport conveyor that transports the commodity;
• a contact portion that is disposed above the transport conveyor and contacts the commodity transported by the transport conveyor;
• an elevating portion that changes a height position of the contact portion;
• a detecting portion that detects a displacement amount of the height position of the contact portion when the commodity is in contact with the contact portion;
• an inspection portion that inspects the seal state by comparing the displacement amount detected by the detecting portion with a predetermined threshold value;
• and
• a control portion that controls an elevating operation of the contact portion by the elevating portion and stops transport by the transport conveyor such that the commodity is positioned at an inspection position where contact by the contact portion is performed,
• wherein the control portion calculates a start timing for starting a lowering operation of the contact portion by the elevating portion, based on a stop timing for stopping the transport by the transport conveyor and a contact timing at which the contact portion contacts the commodity.
