Abstract
A slide assembly for a firearm can include a slide having a top side, a proximal end, a mounting recess about the top side of the slide, a housing recess about the proximal end of the slide, and a retaining hole intersecting the housing recess; an extractor assembly mounted within the housing recess; and an optic sight positioned at least partially in the mounting recess, the optic sight coupled to the slide by a fastener received by the retaining hole, the fastener extending at least partially through the housing recess.
Claims8
A firearm comprising:
- a slide;
- an ejector;
- and
- an extractor assembly that includes:
- at least one extractor,
- a plunger that includes a plunger body and a plunger extension, and
- a biasing member, and
- wherein the slide includes a receiving groove configured to receive the extractor assembly, and a maintenance bore in a region of the extractor assembly, such that when the slide is in an installed state, the maintenance bore penetrates the slide from below in a direction of the receiving groove.
A slide assembly for a firearm comprising:
- a slide having a housing recess and a retaining hole adjacent the housing recess;
- and
- an extractor assembly mounted within the housing recess, wherein the extractor assembly includes a stop located at a mid-portion of the housing recess thereby leaving a rear region of the slide clear of any components of the extractor assembly.
A slide assembly for a firearm comprising:
- a slide having:
- a top side, a bottom side, a distal end, a proximal end, and opposing lateral sides,
- a plurality of serrations at a lateral side of the slide,
- a mounting recess at the top side of the slide, the mounting recess including four retaining holes at a midportion of the mounting recess,
- a receiving groove adjacent at least one of the four retaining holes and the plurality of serrations, overlapping a longitudinal length of the mounting recess, in fluid communication with a lateral side of the slide, and at a level below the mounting recess, wherein the retaining holes extends a depth to the level of the receiving groove,
- a maintenance bore in a region of the receiving groove, wherein the maintenance bore is in fluid communication with the bottom side of the slide for allowing a tool to be received therein,
- a front sight at a distal end of the slide, and
- a rear sight at a proximal end of the slide and adjacent the mounting recess;
- an extractor assembly mounted within the receiving groove, the extractor assembly including:
- an extractor having a gripping end and pivot end opposite the gripping end,
- a plunger that includes a plunger body and a plunger extension, wherein the plunger body has a chamfer in a direction of the plunger extension, and is operatively engaged with the extractor, and
- a biasing member biasing the plunger;
- and
- a firing pin assembly mounted within the slide, the firing pin assembly including a depressor plunger and a spring operatively engaged with the depressor plunger.
