Abstract
The disclosed system comprises a primary air curtain system and one or more optional apparel and/or accessory air curtain subsystem components. The primary system and subsystem(s) are configured to create a directionally controlled air curtain effect that repulses, repels, redirects, neutralizes, and/or disperses airborne infectious pathogens, carcinogens, chemicals, and other contaminants away from the body of a user or a surface susceptible to foreign contamination within a protected enclosure.
Claims2
An anti-pathogenic docking containment system comprising:
- a structural frame defining a containment region positionable relative to an occupant support surface;
- and
- at least one airflow generation subsystem operatively associated with the structural frame and configured to emit airflow outward along at least one boundary of the containment region to form a protective airflow boundary around at least a portion of the occupant support surface;
- wherein the docking containment system is operable independently of the occupant support surface;
- wherein the structural frame is configurable for integration into, mounting to, or positioning relative to a wall structure, architectural structure, room structure, building structure, mobile platform, or vehicle structure;
- and
- wherein the airflow generation subsystem is configured to emit laminar airflow, turbulent airflow, directional airflow, directional airflow of adjustable trajectory, or combinations thereof.
An anti-pathogenic modular containment apparatus comprising:
- a structural module configured to be integrated with, attached to, or detachable from a bed or occupant support surface;
- and
- an airflow generation subsystem associated with the structural module and configured to emit outward airflow to resist encroachment of airborne contaminants;
- wherein the structural module is reconfigurable between a bed-associated configuration and a remote-mounted configuration while maintaining airflow containment capability;
- and
- wherein the structural module is configured for articulated, pivotable, translatable, sliding, rotational, angular repositioning, or combinations thereof relative to the occupant support surface.
